West Shore Centre

The West Shore Child, Youth and Family Centre is a 38,000 square foot facility that was opened in the fall of 2005.  Home to twelve child, youth and family serving agencies, this $7.5 million dollar facility serves families from the communities of Langford, View Royal, Colwood, Metchosin, the Highlands and Sooke.

Major funding for the construction and land costs of this Centre has been provided by the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children ($5.8 million), Ministry for Children and Family Development ($1.4 million) and the Vancouver Island Health Authority ($300,000).  The QA Foundation would like to acknowledge Hugh and Marie Marquis whose $1 million gift launched the project from concept to reality.
