The Port Renfrew Building Project A community of 280 people, Port Renfrew is located 2.5 hours west of Victoria. In the summer of 2003, the Queen Alexandra Foundation worked with community partners to create a community "Vision" and to develop a better understanding of the services and support that children, youth and families of Port Renfrew need. In the second phase of this project, the community has created a proposal for a project that would involve the revitalization of the current community recreation centre and the establishment of a Community School designation for Port Renfrew Elementary School. School District #62, Port Renfrew Health and Social Services Society, Pacheedaht First Nations, the Capital Regional District, individuals, government and the Queen Alexandra Foundation are now working together to secure planning and funding partnerships for the project.
