Craig, 6, has Attention Deficit Disorder, which keeps him from fully participating in his grade one class. Often he finds himself alone, unable to join in the playground games because he doesn't know how to relate to other children and appears "different" in class.
The Queen Alexandra Foundation has funded a social skills training class for children in their early years. Through structured play and games, role modeling and coaching, this training increases positive social experiences with other children, helps these special kids learn self control with their emotions, and increases their assurance in social settings. This helps children with ADD and learning disabilities have confidence in themselves, so they can enjoy all the great parts of being a kid!
